A Delhi Trip

ya, actually it wa not a Delhi trip, but UP. We went to C-DAC Noida, for the OCR workshop on the topic, Classifier design and OCR for the Indian languages, organized by C-DAC Noida. From here, we started on 18th night. Unfortunately the train we took (Dakshin Express) takes 30 hrs to reach Nizamuddin. and some one hr journey from there to C-DAC Noida. My friend's cousin had come to pick us from the railway station, which was really helpful for us. Around 6.00AM, (20th July) we reached in C-DAC Noida hostel. The conference started on time!!,, 9.30 AM. And the chairman of C-DAC Noida and Dr. Shantanu Chaudary, from IIT, Delhi, who is our project coordinator delivered speeches. There were invited talks and the project progress review of each group. The first day workshop is ended by 5.00 PM.

We were in a dilemma what to do next. And I was just walking and roaming hre and there talking with people from other groups. Suddenly got an offer, from Himadri and Nisha(from Oriya and Gujarati groups respectively). "We are going to Akshardam, Are you coming ?".. I was so happy to accept the offer and joined them. Our journey was in auto. Since the akshardham http://www.akshardham.com/ was in Delhi and we stayed in UP, there was a small confusion. Autos from UP were not allowed to enter in Delhi and vice-versa. So, we needed to change our vehicle in between(a place called barabayi-- hope i wrote it correctly :D )
I regret that, we had very little time to spend there.. It was such a beautiful place. And this temple in New-Delhi is new, just some 2 years .. Still some construction is going on. We were not allowed to take any electronic devices(mobiles or cameras) inside the temple. we just roamed around in a rush and came back quickly. And round 9.30 we reached back.

The second day went with so much discussions etc, and etc. And our group presentation was on the 3rd day. And Jawahar sir rocked in the show (as usual and as expected)!!.. I reached back to IIIT Hyderabad today morning. Ya.. I am ending this description,, I know it is poor description about a workshop.. I could have given more details.. but.. ok,, something is better than nothing.. and hope I could give more details at some point in future...
